Vivo X Fold Arrives To Take On The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold

Read Time:2 Minute, 23 Second

You know the folding cellphone is a real deal when a company besides Samsung tries to make it big on the market that is still bright. Even though it’s not really small, brands like Oppo and Vivo are not large compared to the largest smartphone makers in the world, which means they may not have as much resources to be spent on very new and expensive efforts.

In fact, no opposition and vivo may have a lot of shake space for mistakes that can cost millions of companies. Regardless of opportunities against them, Chinese companies boldly try to beat Samsung by itself, both with a better design or a better price. Folding Vivo X is the latest example of it, because it tries to take the crown of Samsung – though, it is quite strange, by doing it in a way that will clearly remind consumers from the honorable Galaxy Z title thailer.

Unlike the smaller Oppo found N, Fold Vivo X seems to take after the Galaxy Z 3 folding with a larger 8.03 inch folding main screen and a high 6.53-inch external screen. This gives a relatively “normal” telephone form when it is folded, but it is wider and higher than the Galaxy Z Fold 3. We have to wait for real-world shows to see how the results are in terms of ergonomics.

This, naturally, indeed raises questions about the hinges used by Vivo, which it claims to have been tested to last 300,000 folding actions and do not have visible folds. It’s much more than what Samsung advertised, but the folds need to verify, of course. Vixo X Fold does not seem to use the “Waterdrop” flexion hinges found in Oppo Find N, so there might be doubts about whether it can be closed equally without folds seen in the middle.

Folding Vivo X not only appears Samsung, because it offers some of the folded king things not. Besides Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will definitely recover this year, Vivo actually places some competitive imaging sensors on the back of the phone, even though with a possible design.

As previously leaked, this phone includes the main 50MP sensor, 48MP ultra-wide camera, and two telefoto shooters, one of them uses a periscope design to provide 5x optical zoom. The phone is also folded first to use the bottom fingerprint scanner, and has two of them, one for each screen.

Even though the specifications are higher, Vivo X Fold does not require 8,999 RMB, which is approximately $ 1,400. Although it is still expensive, the number is not as high as the price starts at $ 1,800 for the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Unfortunately, there is no word about global availability, and folding Vivo X may be stuck as exclusive Chinese for the time being creature.
